Original description: Conoglobigerina avariformis Kasimova 1984: Test medium-sized, highly conical, trochospiral, length exceeds diameter. Coil consists of 3.5-4 whorls. First two whorls many-chambered with 5-6 small, spherical chambers of nearly uniform size, following ones have 3-4 chambers per whorl. Chambers spherical, subspherical in outline, rapidly increase in dimensions, somewhat compressed laterally. Proloculus small, spherical to oval in outline. No uniformity is seen in chamber shape. Sutures depressed, thin. Aperture umbilical, small, arcuate. Surface matte, tuberculate.

Geological Range:
Last occurrence (top): within Bajocian Stage (168.28-170.30Ma, top in Bajocian stage). Data source: [copied from Chronos database]
First occurrence (base): within Bajocian Stage (168.28-170.30Ma, base in Bajocian stage). Data source: [copied from Chronos database]

Plot of occurrence data:

NB Plotting of Neptune data has been disabled on the Mesozoic pages because the dataset is both small and badly affected by a few sites with erroneous age models (our obs Huber, Petrizzo, Young, Nov 2016). The data can still be viewed via the range plottertool - tools menu.
