Similar species: Translated from Russian: Differs from G. calloviensis Kuznetsova by shape and contour of higher trochospiral test, less compact chambers in the last whorl, and by larger inner whorl. The same features make this species different from G. gulekhensis Gorbachik and Poroshina and G caucasica Gorbachik and Poroshina Differs from G. terquemi (Iovceva and Trifonova) by fewer chambers in an inner whorl, smaller last chamber, and by narrower aperture. Similar species was described as Globigerina sp. and its image (spiral side) was given, that might belong to Globuligerina. [copied from Chronos database]

Original description: Globuligerina meganomica Kuznetsova in Kuznetsova & Uspenskaya 1980: Translated from Russian: Test small, trochospiral, consists of two whorls. 4 chambers in an inner whorl, 3-4 chambers in the last whorl. The chambers are closely packed in an inner whorl, and become less compact in the last whorl. Periphery widely rounded. Contour lobate. Sutures slightly depressed and slightly curved. Aperture umbilical with thin lip. Test calcareous, finely porous. Pores are of two types: small and dense (0.4 - 1 microns) and large up to 5 microns. Surface covered with pustules and cells. Cells are irregular and spread everywhere. Holotype measures: D1 0.19 mm, D2 0.14 mm, H 0.1 mm, compressing index D1 : H 1.9. Varies in compression index (2.0 ÃÉ¢ÃÇÂÄÃÇÂì 1.7), in size of an inner whorl which is usually not more that 1/3 D1, although sometimes it reaches to a half of D1, and in having additional small chambers (1-2) on the umbilical sides of some specimens, covering an aperture and umbilicus.
