Original description: Globotruncana fornicata plummerae Gandolfi 1955: "Flat or slightly convex on the dorsal side, two keels equally developed, somewhat diverging, peripheral band only slightly oblique to the plane of coiling; four to five chambers in the last whorl, long and arched as in the previous subspecies [Globotruncana fornicata subsp. Manaurensis Gandolfi, 1955] but longitudinally inflated with well-developed median inner marginal depression in the last chambers. On the ventral side, the chambers are usually flat with long, curved raised sutures, but the early ones are occasionally inflated and short, with the marginal elevations disappearing in the radial sutural depressions. The test is dextrally coiled.

Geological Range:
Last occurrence (top): within R. fructicosa zone (69.18-70.14Ma, top in Maastrichtian stage). Data source: [copied from Chronos database]
First occurrence (base): at base of C. plummerae zone (0% up, 79.2Ma, in Campanian stage). Data source: zonal marker (from Timescale Creator)

Plot of occurrence data:

NB Plotting of Neptune data has been disabled on the Mesozoic pages because the dataset is both small and badly affected by a few sites with erroneous age models (our obs Huber, Petrizzo, Young, Nov 2016). The data can still be viewed via the range plottertool - tools menu.
