Original description: Muricohedbergella Huber and Leckie, 2011:

Test wall moderately thick, multilamellar, finely perforate, wall pores variably spaced in adult chambers, surface moderately to coarsely muricate or pustulose, never with a keel, raised sutures or imperforate peripheral margin. Test small to moderate in size, coiled in a very low to low trochospire, spiral side evolute, umbilical side mostly involute; chambers globular, never elongated radially, increasing slowly to moderately in size, with 4.5-7 in the final whorl; aperture a low interiomarginal, umbilical-extraumbilical arch that is bordered by a thick lip or flap that may extend partly into the umbilical region.

Entries in the Catalog of original descriptions: Muricohedbergella;

Short diagnosis: Test wall multilamellar, finely perforate, wall pores, surface moderately to coarsely muricate or pustulose; test coiled in a very low to low trochospire; chambers globular with 4.5-7 in the final whorl; aperture a low interiomarginal, umbilical-extraumbilical arch bordered by a thick lip or flap.

Geological Range:
Last occurrence (top): within Danian Stage (61.61-66.04Ma, top in Danian stage). Data source: Total of range of species in this database
First occurrence (base): within Albian Stage (100.50-112.95Ma, base in Albian stage). Data source: Total of range of species in this database

Plot of occurrence data:

NB Plotting of Neptune data has been disabled on the Mesozoic pages because the dataset is both small and badly affected by a few sites with erroneous age models (our obs Huber, Petrizzo, Young, Nov 2016). The data can still be viewed via the range plottertool - tools menu.
